A deep low-pressure system will cross southern UK, producing a multi-hazard event of severe wind, heavy snow and rain through Thursday into Friday. Winds will rapidly increase Thursday evening for two to three hours before easing, and very large coastal waves will create dangerous conditions. Stronger winds are expected in the Channel Islands and northern France.
