Meanwhile Status Yellow rain warnings have been issued for Dublin, Louth and Wicklow across a slighly later timeframe, between 9pm on Monday and 1pm on Tuesday. "The general weather forecast for this week is predominantly a dreary one with each day largely consisting of cloud and rainy spells. The low pressure is expected to continue unabated into the coming week bringing plenty of showers, higher than average rainfall around the country with the exception of western and northwestern counties. Today, although beginning wet and cloudy for many, will change to dry and bright as the day goes on as rain gradually clears."
Yellow rain warnings apply to Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork and Waterford from 1pm Monday to 9am Tuesday, and to Dublin, Louth and Wicklow from 9pm Monday to 1pm Tuesday. Heavy rain on saturated ground, combined with high river levels and high tides, will cause localised and river flooding and difficult driving; moderate rainfall could renew flooding in south and east communities. Low pressure will persist this week, producing mostly cloudy days with frequent showers and higher-than-average rainfall across much of the country except western and northwestern counties. Today will start wet and cloudy but should clear from the west to drier, brighter conditions with highs of 7C to 10C; nights may fall below freezing with fog patches.
