Kinari is a cellulose-based composite resin made primarily from plant fibers, intended for home appliance casings, building materials, and automotive components. The material is moldable and colorable, with current formulations containing up to 85% cellulose fibers. Work began in 2015, with biomass content at 55% in 2019 and rising to 90% by 2022. The long-term target is 100% cellulose fibers. Finished products made from Kinari include matte black and forest green spoons, terracotta bowls, a grain-like tumbler, a honeyed amber soap dispenser pump, and softly mottled pendant lamps.
