"The 12-meter e-ATA delivered in Mersin, a port city on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, are equipped with a 396 kWh battery, allowing a stated range of up to 400 kilometers with a charging time of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. The buses are designed to carry up to 70 passengers and are powered by an electric motor producing 250 kW and 22,000 Nm of torque."
"The delivery ceremony was held at the MEŞOT Public Transportation Complex and included representatives from local and national authorities, EU delegates, and Karsan executives. Among them were Mersin Mayor Vahap Seçer, EU Delegation to Turkey Cooperation Section Head Maria Luisa Wyganowski, and Transportation Sector Manager Dr. Göktuğ Kara. Karsan was represented by Deputy General Manager of Domestic Sales Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu, After-Sales Services Director Kubilay Dinçer, and Sales Managers Adem Ali Metin and Fırat Acar."
"With the synergy between the vision of Mayor Vahap Seçer and his team to make Mersin a more modern, high-quality, sustainable, and eco-friendly world city, and Karsan's vision of being 'One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility'. As a brand that single-handedly accounts for 84% of Turkey's electric bus exports to Europe, we are proud of this achievement; however, what makes us happiest is that we are also leading the transition to electric public transportation in our own country."
Seventeen 12-meter Karsan e-ATA electric buses were delivered to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality as part of a collaboration with the European Union under the IPA II program. The e-ATA vehicles feature 396 kWh batteries with a stated range of up to 400 kilometers and a charging time of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Each bus can carry up to 70 passengers and is powered by a 250 kW electric motor producing 22,000 Nm of torque. The delivery took place at the MEŞOT Public Transportation Complex with local, national, EU, and Karsan representatives in attendance. The e-ATA range was launched in 2021.
