HOAX: This website advertising jobs at KWS is a sham
"Despite appearing official, the site is not genuine due to multiple red flags. For instance, the site's URL is suspicious and does not match the official KWS addresses, which normally end with ".go.ke." The authentic KWS website can be accessed here: https://www.kws.go.ke/. The website in question is a GitHub-hosted subdomain, whereas the official KWS site operates on an independent domain that, according to Whois records, was registered on 27 August 2007."
"The site invites prospective job seekers to provide details, such as name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, and whether one is legally an adult. Applicants are then asked to confirm their submission by providing their name and to share the link with either five WhatsApp groups or 15 friends to complete the process."
"On 14 January 2026, KWS disowned the site and termed it fraudulent. "KWS wishes to alert members of the public to a fake recruitment link currently circulating online and on social media platforms, falsely claiming to advertise KWS recruitment opportunities. The Service clarifies that this link is fraudulent and is not associated with KWS," the agency said in part."
Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has disowned a fraudulent website impersonating its recruitment page. The website solicits personal details including name, phone number, email, date of birth, gender, and legal adulthood status, then asks applicants to confirm by providing their name and to share the link with multiple WhatsApp groups or friends. The site uses a suspicious GitHub-hosted subdomain instead of the official .go.ke domain and lacks details about advertised roles. No corresponding vacancies appear on official KWS platforms. KWS publicly labeled the link fraudulent and urged the public not to engage with or share it.
