Hillbrook School represented in national Speaking and Service Awards
"Three students at Hillbrook School were among this year's winners of the national Speaking and Service Award from the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). From more than 100,000 student members of the NSDA, these students were recognized for their service in the National Speech and Debate Honor Society for the 2024-25 school year. The NSDA Honor Society recognizes students for participation in speech and debate activities."
"Bay Area Older Adults (BAOA) is hosting a Coyote Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day on Friday, Nov. 7, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Hellyer County Park to help keep the watershed clean for local wildlife and drinking water. BAOA is also hosting a leisurely three-mile walk along the bay at Ravenswood Preserve on Wednesday Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Participants can learn about the preserve's history as well as the aromatic plants, insects, birds and mammals that make their home in the wetlands."
Three Hillbrook School students — Ahren Kapadia, Madeleine Zehner and Vikram Devaru — won the national Speaking and Service Award from the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). The NSDA Honor Society recognized their service among more than 100,000 student members for the 2024-25 school year. Students earn service points and distinction through competitions, community service, leadership activities and public speaking; the three winners each earned 200 service points, the Honor Society's annual maximum. Bay Area Older Adults (BAOA) is hosting a Coyote Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day Nov. 7 at Hellyer County Park and a three-mile Ravenswood Preserve bay walk Nov. 19, with transportation, lunch and registration required.
