The advisory was issued Sunday at 8:34 p.m. and remains in effect until Monday, Jan. 19, at noon. Visibility may fall to one quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights and fog lights if available, avoid high beams, and leave ample space ahead of vehicles. Use lane markings to stay in lane. In near-zero visibility, activate hazard lights and pull into a safe parking area or as far off the road as possible; deactivate lights except hazards and engage the emergency brake.
