Low visibility can create hazardous driving conditions. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights or fog lights, avoid high-beams, and maintain a large following distance. Use lane markings to stay in the correct lane. Allow extra travel time or postpone trips if possible. In near-zero visibility, activate hazard lights and pull into a safe parking area; if none exists, pull off the roadway as far as possible, set the emergency brake, and keep hazard lights on.
