A coastal flood advisory covers Bay Area shorelines from Wednesday 5 a.m. through Sunday Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. Low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways could see up to 1.3 feet of inundation above ground level. San Francisco tidal gauge high tides are forecast above normal each day Wednesday through Sunday, with peaks ranging roughly from 1.02 to 1.32 feet above normal at mid-to-late morning times. High tide timing can vary up to 90 minutes along the Pacific Coast and throughout the Bay. There is a chance higher tides will coincide with storm surge, producing slightly higher levels, flooded lots, parks, and roads, and isolated road closures. Travel may require extra time. Sandbag locations and flood-preparation instructions are available for affected counties.
