"Yes, we do have a slight chance of thunderstorms across our area, mostly from the Bay Area south into the Central Coast through mid-afternoon,"
"We're not expecting any severe thunderstorms."
"It's not unusual. This is our rainy time of the year. This is the time of year that we might expect systems like this to be impacting our area."
"Really the biggest problem will be visibility in any of the stronger showers, the more intense showers, and then just ponding on roads and slick roadways because we've been pretty dry,"
A low-pressure system moving along the coast will produce a slight chance of thunderstorms across the Bay Area and south into the Central Coast through mid-afternoon. Storms, if they form, are expected to be short-lived with downpours and wind gusts up to around 40 mph and are not expected to be severe. Lift, moisture and instability are present but limited. The main hazards will be sudden heavy showers that reduce visibility, create ponding and make roads slick after a dry spell. Pea-sized hail is possible but considered minimal. Drier conditions return Thursday and Friday before another system arrives.
