September's approach coincides with a brief early-fall pattern of cooler, drier air. Highs will settle in the mid 70s to around 80°F, about 5–10 degrees cooler than Monday's mid-80s, matching mid-September averages. Dew points will remain comfortable to crisp, reducing humidity and making overnight cooling easier, with lows dipping into the 50s and some mornings needing a sweatshirt or light jacket. Sunshine will dominate much of the week, with the first shower chance arriving Friday as a weakening front. Beach days will be pleasant, but a moderate rip current risk is expected starting Tuesday.
With highs in the mid 80s, Monday was the warmest day of the week. For the rest of the week our highs will be in the mid 70s to 80 degrees, 5 to 10 degrees cooler than Monday. That puts us more in line with mid-September averages, contributing to an early fall-feel. And it's not just the cooler temperatures that'll make it feel more like the start of autumn, it's the low humidity.
Dew points, the measure of total moisture in the atmosphere, will stay within the comfortable, if not crisp, range. There's no need to worry about the air feeling sticky and suffocating. If anything, the air will feel comparatively dry and you may find yourself reaching for the Chapstick more often. Lower dew points also make it easier for our temperatures to cool overnight. We'll see lows dipping into the 50s. Some mornings this week will be more comfortable with a sweatshirt or light jacket on.
