David McGoldrick, a 37-year-old former Republic of Ireland international, has turned down a new contract with Notts County despite an impressive season where he scored 17 goals in 35 games. Having returned to his boyhood club in 2023, his tenure included a memorable run to the League Two play-offs. The club expressed disappointment at his departure but appreciated his contributions. He is now rumored to be moving to MK Dons, managed by his former boss Paul Warne, following a career spanning over 20 seasons and 180 goals.
Unfortunately we have been unable to reach an agreement on this occasion, but everyone at Meadow Lane thanks David wholeheartedly for his charismatic performances, wonderful goals, leadership and dedication.
It was special to see him realise his dream of returning to Meadow Lane and we wish him all the best in the next chapter of his brilliant career.
