When do NYC public school students return from mid-winter break?

"Schools are closed for mid-winter break from Monday, Feb. 16, through Friday, Feb. 20, according to the New York City Department of Education academic calendar. This gives students nine full days off from school during the break, including weekends. Public school students will return from mid-winter recess on Monday, Feb. 23. The city DOE public school calendar includes some two dozen days off between the first day and the last day of classes."

"The next day off after mid-winter recess is Friday, March 30, for Eid al-Fitr, and students can look forward to the last weeklong break during spring recess from April 2-10. Students also have time off for other federal and religious holidays until the last day of classes on Friday, June 26. Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New York do not offer a mid-winter recess, only providing time off for Presidents Day."

"There is still time off on the calendar for the rest of the school year. Catholic school students will also get their next long break for Easter recess in April, beginning on Holy Thursday on April 2, resuming classes on Monday, April 13. That means Catholic school students will have 11 days off from school during their Easter break. The earliest day that Catholic schools can end the school year is June 18."
