Victor Valley Transit Expands Fare-Free Program To Barstow Community College Students - Busline News
Briefly

A partnership between Victor Valley Transit Authority and Barstow Community College enables fare-free bus service for BCC students, effective July 1, 2025. Students with valid IDs can use VVTA's Fixed Routes and County Routes at no cost. This initiative joins other colleges in programs aimed at easing transportation costs to enhance access to education and opportunities. Enhanced connections for students in rural communities are also provided. The fare-free program aims to support educational equity and economic mobility in the region.
In our region, transportation is key for our students to achieve their educational goals. With our partner from VVTA, we will guarantee that transportation is not an obstacle. BCC is creating a route for success for all the students.
For over a decade, VVTA has supported student riders across the High Desert. Welcoming Barstow Community College into our fare-free family expands that legacy and reaffirms our commitment to the success of every student we serve.
