Tadgh O'Donovan is a science teacher at Carrigaline Community School and a content creator known as @teachwithtadgh. He took a chance on content creation during the pandemic and continues with that path alongside classroom work. He qualified from the University of Limerick in 2015 when few permanent teaching jobs existed. He observes that perceptions of a national teacher shortage are misleading and that shortages are concentrated in Dublin. He attributes the Dublin imbalance to the high cost of living and links recruitment and retention challenges to regional affordability and job distribution.
