Students, parents, and staff gathered at Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown for the Transition Year graduation ceremony for the TY Class of 2026. The event marked achievements and personal growth after a busy year of learning, creativity, trips, performances, enterprise activities, and new opportunities. The ceremony began with a performance of “Linger” by The Cranberries, sung by Emma Murphy, followed by a welcome from Corey Foley. Principal Alan Costello highlighted student accomplishments and contributions to school life. Guests enjoyed instrumental performances of “Proud Mary” by Music Generation students and “The Mario Waltz” by Peter Kavanagh. A slideshow and reflection shared memories from trips, activities, work experience, and school events. TY coordinator Ms Mary Cummins congratulated students and wished them success in senior cycle. Awards recognized Emma Connolly and Peter Kavanagh as Students of the Year, and Éabha Byrne and Corey Foley with Spirit Awards. Refreshments followed, organized with support from Ms Tompkins and others.

"The ceremony opened with a performance of "Linger" by The Cranberries, sung by Emma Murphy, before student Corey Foley welcomed parents, students and staff. Principal Alan Costello addressed the gathering, speaking about the many accomplishments of the TY students and the important contribution they made to school life throughout the year."

A special slideshow and reflection on student experiences brought plenty of laughter, memories and applause from the audience as highlights from trips, activities, work experience and school events were shared."
"Special awards were presented to Emma Connolly and Peter Kavanagh, who were named Transition Year Students of the Year, with Spirit Awards presented to Éabha Byrne and Corey Foley in recognition of their positivity, contribution and school spirit. Following the ceremony, refreshments were served for all guests. "A sincere thank you to Home Economics teacher Ms Tompkins for organising and preparing the refreshments and to everyone involved in making the event such a memorable occasion for students and families," a school spokesperson said."
