"There are several open seats on commissions in Saratoga. The city is looking to fill one full-term seat on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The term will end on Sept. 30, 2029. There are two full-term seats available on the Planning Commission; those terms end on March 31, 2030. Applications for the Parks and Recreation Commission are due by Jan. 23. "Valley Water is accepting applications for its Water 101 Academy until 5 p.m. on Jan. 9. Water 101 Academy is a free program for adults in Santa Clara County to promote water awareness, address misinformation and support community initiatives like creek cleanups and flood preparedness outreach. Directors chooses three candidates from their district to create the 21-member cohort, who will learn about the local water system and the agency's projects through webinars and tours of water infrastructure.
