Students, families, and staff gathered in the school library for the annual Leaving Certificate Graduation Mass at Boherbue Comprehensive School in Cork. The ceremony marked the milestone for the Leaving Certificate Class of 2026 as they prepared to finish secondary school and move into the next stage of life. The theme, “The Rest Is Still Unwritten,” drew inspiration from “Unwritten” and focused on opportunity and new beginnings. Students reflected on friendships, memories, and challenges from their years at the school. A video presentation showed photographs from school trips, classroom moments, sporting achievements, celebrations, and friendships. Fr. Danny Broderick celebrated the Mass. Emma Herlihy received the Nellie O’Connor Cup, and each student received a graduation scroll.
"This year’s theme was ‘The Rest Is Still Unwritten’ inspired by the song “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, and it focused on opportunity and new beginnings. Throughout the Mass, students reflected on the friendships they formed, the memories they created and the challenges they overcame during their years in Boherbue Comprehensive School."
"Following the Mass celebrated by Fr. Danny Broderick, a video presentation was shown featuring photographs from throughout the students’ years at Boherbue Comprehensive School. The montage captured memorable school trips, classroom moments, sporting achievements, celebrations and the friendships formed over the years. The presentation brought both laughter and nostalgia to the evening as students and families reflected on how much had changed since the early days of first year."
"During the ceremony, sixth year student Emma Herlihy was presented with the Nellie O’Connor Cup, an award which recognises a student who truly embodied the spirit of Boherbue Comprehensive School throughout their time there. The award honours a student who was a positive addition to the school community, demonstrating a can-do attitude, kindness, respect towards fellow students and school staff and had a positive influence on classmates and school life in general."
"Each Leaving Certificate student was also presented with a graduation scroll to mark the occasion and recognise their years of dedication and hard work. The ceremony celebrated the achievements and experiences of the Leaving Certificate Class of 2026 as they prepared to complete their secondary school journey and move forward into the next stage of their lives."
