Cornell Tech and CUNY's Macaulay Honors College launched the CUNY Honors Connect program, debuting with a showcase of student research on July 31. Top CUNY undergraduates worked with Cornell Tech faculty on diverse projects, addressing real-world challenges in fields like artificial intelligence and health care. Projects included assistive robots, virtual reality urban farming initiatives, and communication tools for those with speech disabilities. Greg Morrisett emphasized the importance of student insights to research vitality and the program's role in fostering tech solutions for societal benefit.
The research presentations by Macaulay Honors College undergraduate students on work they conducted with Cornell Tech faculty this summer showcased why the insight of these students is critical to the vitality of our research programs.
The CUNY Honors Connect program not only creates a partnership to inspire these students by exposing them to new research opportunities, but allows us to join forces to develop tech solutions for a better world.
