Education Minister Hildegarde Naughton visited schools in Milford and Letterkenny in County Donegal to see facilities, discuss the need for extensions, and meet staff and students ahead of the Leaving Certificate exams. Outside Scoil Mhuire in Milford, Martina and Isaac Burke confronted her as she left the school and walked toward her car. The pair later went to Mulroy College and protested outside the school using a speaker system to shout “shame, shame, shame.” Gardaí were present in Milford, along with Donegal TDs and councillors who met the Minister. The events occurred one day after Enoch Burke’s dismissal from Wilson’s Hospital School was confirmed following an appeal dismissal. Footage was shared on social media by Josiah, Enoch’s brother.
