PG&E buys Pleasanton office building from Workday
"PLEASANTON PG&E will be able to expand its East Bay presence after an all-cash purchase of a Pleasanton office building from Workday. Oakland-based PG&E paid $21.8 million for the building at 5918 Stoneridge Mall Rd., according to documents filed on Jan. 29 with the Alameda County Recorder's Office. Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the utility operation of the PG&E corporate holding company, was the official buyer, records show."
"We have purchased an office in Pleasanton to provide adequate office workspace for our coworkers that are supporting the greater Bay Area, including the Tri-Valley, PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian said. Workday has been attempting to sell one or more office buildings in Pleasanton, where the provider of workforce-oriented software services has its headquarters. It wasn't immediately clear whether Workday was still seeking to sell or sublease office sites in Pleasanton."
PG&E purchased a five-story, 209,000-square-foot office building at 5918 Stoneridge Mall Rd. in Pleasanton from Workday for $21.8 million. Pacific Gas & Electric Co. was the official buyer, with county recorder documents filed Jan. 29. PG&E said the office will provide workspace for coworkers supporting the greater Bay Area, including the Tri-Valley. Workday has been attempting to sell one or more Pleasanton office buildings where its headquarters is located, and it remained unclear whether additional sites were still being marketed or offered for sublease. PG&E previously moved its headquarters from San Francisco to Oakland, buying its current complex for $980 million in June 2025.
