"Barnes & Noble College is now running UC Berkeley's student stores, including the Cal Student Store on Bancroft Way, the store inside the Helen Diller Anchor House, and the new California Memorial Stadium Store, as well as e-commerce operations. The partnership aims to modernize retail operations, enhance customer experience through technology, improve course material affordability, and offer exclusive merchandise including Ebbets Field athletic apparel. The company operates over 1,160 physical and virtual stores nationwide. Separately, Free People, a women's bohemian fashion brand, opened a new store on Fourth Street on January 30, expanding retail options in Berkeley's commercial district.
