Feel Good Bakery will close its two Alameda locations on Oct. 31 after 21 years of operation. The closures affect the Alameda Marketplace shop and the outpost inside the Encinal Shopping Center. Owners posted a message saying the decision followed thoughtful consideration, and they thanked the Alameda community for its support. The specific reasons for the closure were not disclosed. The bakery opened in August 2004 under partners Danielle Forestier and Rick Kellner; Forestier studied baking in Paris and appeared on "Baking with Julia." The menu expanded from baguettes and pastries to include cakes, macarons, pies, salads and pizza. Online orders will be discontinued and preorders will be refunded.
