Arturo Perez, co-owner of Eclipse Hair Studio in Albany, offers free haircuts on Sundays in exchange for food donations to assist families affected by the federal government shutdown. He accepts nonperishable items such as spaghetti, canned food, and cereal and also provides free haircuts to people who cannot donate. Community members and clients have contributed multiple bags of food, which Perez redistributes to those in need. Perez is donating his time every Sunday for the rest of the year to support neighbors and help ensure families have food ahead of Thanksgiving.
