After 10 years in Temescal, Roses' Taproom announces closure
"This is brutal. After nearly 10 years and millions and beers and an unmeasurable volume of heart filling community connection, Roses' has sadly come to the end of its time,"
"astronomical rent"
Roses' Taproom, a longtime spot for local beers and wine in Oakland's Temescal neighborhood, announced on Instagram that it is closing with no date yet. The taproom operated for nearly 10 years and served as a community gathering place. Owners Hillary Huffard and Luke Janson cited slow foot traffic and "astronomical rent" as contributors to the decision to close. The bar had posted a hiring announcement just a few months earlier. The taproom was located at 4930 Telegraph Ave. (at 49th St.) in Oakland.
