""We will surely miss our little community that we are madly in love with. We are so grateful for everyone who supported us through the years and made this place what it became. Some of the best moments of our lives happened right here. This is so hard, the end of an era,""
""We want to continue the incredible legacy that Melissa started,""
""insurmountable challenges""
The Good Hop, a neighborhood beer bar and bottle shop at 2421 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland, is closing after more than a decade. Original owner Melissa Myers sold the business in September 2024 to former bartender Adam Clark and longtime regular Monica White. The new owners cited "insurmountable challenges" as the reason for the closure and set the final day of service for December 31. The owners expressed deep gratitude to their community, noting many of their best moments happened at the bar and calling the closure the end of an era.
