Sondra Lee was a accomplished dancer and actor whose career spanned decades in theater, film, and television. Discovered by legendary choreographer Jerome Robbins, she originated the role of Tiger Lily in the 1954 Broadway production of Peter Pan and reprised it in multiple television broadcasts alongside Mary Martin. She played Minnie Fay in the original Hello, Dolly! production with Carol Channing, marking her longest career run. Beyond performing, Lee taught at Stella Adler's Conservatory and New York University, and consulted on films including Places in the Heart, The Last of the Mohicans, and The Morning After. Her memoir detailed her fortuitous meeting with Robbins, who became her champion and gave her the nickname Peanuts.
