
A man known for covering his home with Trump flags and MAGA memorabilia was seriously injured after a brutal attack outside his Escondido property. Police arrested Thomas Caleb Butler, 32, in connection with the incident near East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street around 2:15 p.m. Video showed police tape blocking the street after a confrontation. Officers reportedly found a utility worker restraining the alleged attacker while another man lay nearby with severe injuries, and a witness who tried to stop the confrontation was also injured. Locals had previously complained about the property, describing confrontational behavior and over-the-top displays. Online comments also suggested the decorations may violate California rules limiting campaign signs and flags to 90 days after an election. The injured victim was taken to a trauma center.
