""The camp was unoccupied during the storm, and no injuries were reported there.""
Powerful late-December storms toppled trees and damaged dozens of structures at the city-owned 13-acre Cazadero camp in the forested coastal mountains northwest of Guerneville. Staff are clearing mountains of debris and downed redwoods to reopen the camp for spring programs. Winds gusted up to 70 mph, uprooting five large trees; one tent cabin was destroyed and about 25 others were damaged, with branches puncturing decks and smashing frames. Two propane tanks and other structures were damaged and the site's water connection was severed. The camp was unoccupied during the storm and no injuries were reported. One fallen tree across Austin Creek split and raised flood concerns.
