SAP expanded its sovereign cloud portfolio with a new On-Site solution that allows customers to host SAP-managed cloud infrastructure within their own facilities. The On-Site model provides high physical control and data residency while offering flexible deployment options including SAP-hosted, hyperscaler-based, or customer-site hosted models. The offering targets governments and regulated-sector businesses requiring strict sovereignty, ownership, and control of sensitive data under local regulations. The launch of the On-Site model will give customers the ability to host managed cloud infrastructure within their own facilities in a move the tech firm said provides the "ultimate level of physical control and data residency". Thomas Saueressig, member of the executive board of SAP SE for customer services and delivery, said the expansion is in direct response to growing enterprise calls for heightened data sovereignty controls.
