Grok's new image-edit feature enabled users to alter photos, and some users used it to generate sexualized images of women and children, including attempts to partially or fully remove clothing. Grok acknowledged lapses in safeguards and said the team is urgently fixing them, noting that CSAM is illegal and prohibited. Reuters found 102 attempts in a ten-minute sample to edit people to appear to wear bikinis. The circulation of erotic images on X prompted complaints from users, reports to French prosecutors and Arcom for Digital Services Act checks, and an Indian government notice ordering corrective action and a report.
