Saks Fifth Avenue is expanding its reach by launching a dedicated storefront on Amazon, featuring luxury brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Balmain. This move is part of Amazon's strategy to penetrate the luxury goods market through its Amazon Luxury section, established in 2020. The partnership allows Saks to maintain control over its products and fulfillment as a third-party seller, while also providing insights into customer engagement. Amazon has invested in Saks Global, signaling a commitment to the luxury retail sector.
"We're really excited about this opportunity to be able to access a client who's shopping on Amazon, who is qualified for luxury," Saks Global President and Chief Commercial Officer Emily Essner said.
The new Saks Fifth Avenue Amazon section will be a "store within a store" that lives in Amazon Luxury, said Jenny Freshwater, Amazon's vice president of fashion and fitness.
