During stage 11 of the Tour de France, a protestor attempted to disrupt the finish line by running onto the course with an anti-Israel message revealed on his t-shirt. The protestor was swiftly tackled and removed by Tour de France staff member Stéphane Boury just before race leaders Jonas Abrahamsen and Mauro Schmid crossed the finish line. The French National Police arrived to handcuff the individual, who was heard shouting complaints about Israel's participation in the event. The protest seemed directed at the Israel-Premier Tech team, although this was not confirmed.
A political protestor was tackled and pushed off the finish line area of stage 11 in Toulouse by a Tour de France staffer just seconds before the two race leaders pushed across the line in a furious sprint. The protestor was seen taking off his white T-shirt to reveal another white T-shirt underneath, with an anti-Israel message written in English, "Israel out of the Tour".
The individual shouted as he was taken into custody, "Israel on the Tour, the Tour is complicit". The protestor was intercepted quickly and pushed across the side barriers off the course by the Tour's manager for stage finishes, Stéphane Boury.
