PayPal Links lets users create personalized one-time links to send or request set payment amounts via text, direct message, or email. Both payer and payee must have PayPal accounts; recipients without accounts are prompted to create one through the PayPal app or website. Each link is private, single-use, and expires after 10 days; unclaimed links can be cancelled or a reminder sent before expiry. Links support notes and emoji and provide immediate access to funds for receivers. The feature launches first in the US and will expand to the UK, Italy, and additional countries later in September. PayPal is also adding cryptocurrency as a payment method.
