Amazon plans to build a 106,800-square-foot last-mile distribution hub at 1605 South Seventh St. in San Jose on a 17.8-acre site purchased in 2020 for $59.3 million. The project would include about 8,700 square feet of offices and 36,600 square feet of external staging and loading areas. Six existing industrial buildings, including a 279,000-square-foot structure, would be demolished. Amazon expects to hire 600 workers for the site while limiting maximum onsite employees to 400. City planners have circulated an environmental impact report and conceptual drawings show the Amazon logo on the building.
