Amazon's analysis of purchasing trends revealed that groceries are among the top items bought across its online stores. In response, the company is enhancing its delivery service for groceries, expanding same-day delivery to over 1,000 cities and planning to reach 2,300 by 2025. The service includes a variety of perishable items, with popular selections like strawberries and avocados. To ensure freshness, Amazon employs a specialized temperature-controlled fulfillment network and conducts quality checks for products before delivery.
Customers can now order milk alongside electronics; oranges, apples, and potatoes with a mystery novel; and frozen pizza at the same time as tools for their next home improvement project-and check out with one cart and have everything delivered to their doorstep within hours.
Every item [undergoes] a six-point quality check upon arrival and before leaving for delivery. Temperature-sensitive products are delivered in insulated bags that are recyclable in most curbside recycling programs.
