Captivate 13.1 can open Classic projects through an “Import Classic Files” feature, but the workflow limits reduce usefulness. After importing and saving, rebuilding or modernizing becomes difficult because content from legacy slides cannot be copied into new non-legacy slides. Many advanced or customized interactions from Captivate Classic are lost, and updating or transitioning older projects is constrained. Some imported projects also fail to publish even when reduced to a single slide with no interactions, and errors may reference slides already deleted, indicating deeper conversion issues. The situation forces a choice between maintaining legacy environments or rebuilding courses elsewhere, while uncertainty remains about future improvements to editability, interaction conversion, and publishing.
"The biggest question now is whether Adobe plans to improve this feature: Will imported slides become more “editable” and reusable (i.e., ability to copy content to non legacy slide)? Will advanced Classic interactions eventually convert properly? Will publish"
