"The survey of 1,458 teens ages 13 to 17, conducted from late September through early October 2025, found that 64% of teens report using AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Character.ai. About 28% say they use chatbots daily, including 16% who use them several times a day or almost constantly. At the same time, social media use remains deeply embedded in teen routines."

"The report highlights clear demographic differences in both social media and AI use. Black and Hispanic teens are significantly more likely than White teens to say they are on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram almost constantly. About 35% of Black teens and 23% of Hispanic teens report being on YouTube almost constantly, compared with just 8% of White teens. Older teens, ages 15 to 17, are also far more likely than younger teens to report near-constant online use."

"Internet use overall is now nearly universal among teens. The study found that 97% of teens use the internet daily, and 40% say they are online almost constantly - up sharply from 24% a decade ago. Black teens (55%) and Hispanic teens (52%) are about twice as likely as White teens (27%) to report being online almost constantly. ChatGPT dominates the AI landscape among teens. The survey shows 59% of all teens use ChatGPT, making it by far the most widely used chatbot."

Internet access is nearly universal, with 97% online daily and 40% online almost constantly. Black and Hispanic teens report much higher near-constant online and platform use than White teens. ChatGPT is the most-used chatbot at 59%.
