Orange Belgium and Proximus signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly expand fibre deployment and improve gigabit network access in Wallonia. This initiative aims to cover approximately 70% of homes and benefit around 1.4 million residents and businesses in medium- to low-density areas. Proximus will roll out FTTH to 600,000 homes, integrating Orange Belgium customers gradually. For sparsely populated zones, both companies will collaborate to extend FTTH networks to 200,000 homes. The partnership underscores a commitment to an inclusive and sustainable digital development approach in the region.
The collaboration aims to ensure that gigabit networks strengthen the Belgian economy, enabling citizens in less populated areas to access vital digital resources.
