The BBC Sounds app will no longer be available to international listeners starting 21 July 2025, except for Radio 4 and the BBC World Service. While BBC Sounds will lose audio-on-demand features and programming schedules, live streaming will continue as long as listeners know the correct direct URLs. Third-party streaming platforms such as TuneIn and services like Apple Music will also allow access to live broadcasts. Users can continue to find and listen to their preferred BBC radio stations through various methods, assuming they have the right links.
The BBC Sounds app will be turned off for listeners outside the UK on 21 July 2025, but live streaming of BBC radio will remain available.
While the BBC Sounds app and much of the website will be inaccessible, listeners can still access live streams through direct links and third-party platforms.
Listeners will not have access to audio-on-demand, programme schedules, or the full BBC Sounds experience, but will be able to listen live if they know the links.
To listen to BBC Radio internationally after the app is discontinued, users can utilize direct access links or platforms like TuneIn and Apple Music.
