"They're notifications, if it's the same as mine. When you click on the little square box in the bottom right corner, a larger box will open and there will be "Manage Notifications" at the top. Click on that, and you can choose which notifications you get, or turn them off altogether."
Small pop-up messages appearing in the lower-right corner are Windows notifications rather than web ads. Clicking the small square in the bottom-right (Action Center) opens a larger panel that includes a Manage Notifications option. Using Manage Notifications or Settings > System > Notifications & actions allows selecting which apps can show notifications or disabling notifications entirely.
