Dioramas - itsgalo
Briefly

DIORAMAS creates synthetic animated worlds through a WebGL rendering engine, simulating nature with pixel-based creatures and evolving landscapes. The environment evolves through a structured process where it initially grows by introducing flora and fauna, reflecting natural behaviors such as flocking. As iterations progress, the landscape expands and depopulates until it ultimately deteriorates. Inspired by principles of artificial life and steering behaviors, DIORAMAS allows users to engage in real-time exploration, capturing moments of this evolving world through interactive commands.
DIORAMAS is a study in world-making, creating artificial, low-resolution worlds that mimic nature through pixel-based aesthetics and algorithmic growth patterns.
The generative system inherits traits over iterations, expanding and contracting like natural ecosystems, experiencing growth followed by inevitable de-growth.
