BBC targets adults in the latest adventure for its top dog Bluey

Bluey has become a major commercial success for BBC Studios, generating over $2.16 billion in sales from various operations. Executives aim to expand Bluey from a top preschool show to a broader lifestyle brand. The show has achieved immense popularity, recently becoming the most watched in the US and achieving over 1 billion streams on its music. The product range includes unique items like paddling pools, bumper cars, and themed merchandise, and even features a theatre production and immersive experiences.
From a retail sales standpoint, we are generating about $3.6bn in global retail sales across our entire portfolio and Bluey is a really, really big chunk of that.
Bluey was the most watched show in the US across all genres in 2024 and kept that spot in the first half of this year.
We're just at the beginning of something that I hope will be a generation-defining brand for children and then families today.
There is already a Bluey theatre production and Bluey's World, a one-of-a-kind guided immersive experience, has opened in Queensland.
