Teens and tweens continue to favor TV shows and movies, with 57% saying they watch more traditional content than parents realize. Teens talk about TV shows with friends more than they talk about short-form social media clips. Going to a movie theater with friends is the top weekend media activity for many Gen Z participants. A majority want less forced romance and less sexual content: 54% want different-gender characters to prioritize friendship, 48.4% say there is too much sexual content, and 60.9% want romances shown as friendship-first rather than sex-focused.
