CDN Domain URL change for Agents in Pipelines - Azure DevOps Blog
Briefly

Edgio CDN for Azure DevOps is being retired, impacting Azure DevOps Pipelines customers who rely on it for agent package downloads. As of May 2025, users must transition to Akamai and Azure Front Door CDNs. Affected customers, particularly those using self-hosted agent pools, Azure VM Scale Set agents, and Managed DevOps Pools, must update their firewall allow list and run a test pipeline to ensure proper configuration. Additional patches are necessary for some Azure DevOps Server customers for backend integration with the new CDNs. Timelines for these changes are critical to avoid service disruption.
"Customers using self-hosted Azure DevOps Agent pools must transition from Edgio CDN to Akamai and Azure Front Door CDNs by May 1 and May 15, 2025."
"The retirement of Edgio CDN means the URL https://vstsagentpackage.azureedge.net will be deactivated, requiring customers to update to https://download.agent.dev.azure.com for agent downloads."
