The Innovation Park is an R&D facility established by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Jiading District, Shanghai. Nikken Sekkei Ltd led concept design and design supervision while Shimizu Corporation handled design development, with Shimizu Corporation (China) Limited as construction contractor. Joint design, supervision, and consulting partners included SINOPEC Shanghai Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai X'roots Consultant for Investment Co., Ltd., and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. The masterplan creates a park-like environment to integrate nature and society and to promote collaboration for autonomous-driving and mobility research.
