This Chair Was Made to Challenge Everything You Know About Plywood - Yanko Design
Briefly

The Layup chair, designed by Nathan Martell, explores the potential of 3D plywood forming technology, defying expectations of material constraints. It’s constructed from three bent plywood parts that create the illusion of a single piece through seamless connections. This chair not only exemplifies excellent craftsmanship but also represents a significant step forward in furniture design, blending simplicity with complexity in form, representative of a new era in wood bending tradition.
The Layup chair achieves a remarkable milestone in pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with a simple piece of bent plywood.
In this spirit, I took the opportunity to propose a technically ambitious lounge chair aimed at carrying this tradition forward into a new era.
