Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center / Studio Gang
The Scripps Theater design led by Studio Gang extends year-round theater functionality and improves circulation across the campus. The project enables a wider range of programming through expanded rehearsal, performance, education, and amenity spaces. A curved, timber-framed grid shell forms the main architectural feature. The theater also provides expanded accessibility for more diverse audiences. Technical additions create new opportunities for Hudson Valley Shakespeare productions, supporting additional programming and performance needs. Overall, the design strengthens both the theater’s operational capacity and its integration with campus movement and community use.
