"Conceived as a Pandora's box, the cube opens and closes to reveal multiple layers of the show's narrative. In one sequence, it unfolds into a plus shape (+) on the stage floor, a visual emblem of unison and connection. At other moments, it frames performers through circular apertures, hosts the singer on its exterior while choreography plays out within, or becomes a vessel for projection mapping, with visuals such as a clock face evoking themes of memory and time."
"The cube is built from a steel truss clad in timber panels and mounted on a central revolve that allows rotation and continuous reconfiguration. A hydraulic hinge system allows each section to open or close in under ten seconds, keeping up with the rapid pace of a live pop production. As the show draws to a close, the cube reseals itself, the internal tungsten spiral glowing within its circular frame like a light bulb, signaling hope, warmth, and renewal."
A seven-meter white cube designed by Ruby Law for a concert rotates, unfolds, and transforms to serve as sculpture, projection surface, and architectural frame. The cube operates as a Pandora's box, revealing layered narratives, unfolding into a plus shape to signify unison, framing performers through circular apertures, and hosting choreography on both interior and exterior surfaces. Circular LED screens hover above to provide counterpoint and new perspectives. Constructed from steel truss and timber panels on a central revolve, hydraulic hinges enable sub-ten-second reconfiguration. Projection mapping and a glowing internal tungsten spiral evoke themes of memory, time, and renewal.
