Nyrenstone Estate / Alexis Dornier
"Alexis Dornier interprets topography through circles and tangents at Tampah Hills, Lombok."
"Positioned on one of the steepest slopes of Tampah Hills in South Lombok, Villa NN is shaped less by convention and more by circumstance."
"The house follows the fall of the land, stepping down the hill while tracing a geometry of circles and tangents that define both spatial arrangement and overall character."
Villa NN occupies one of the steepest slopes of Tampah Hills in South Lombok, following the natural fall of the land and stepping down the hillside in a series of levels. The form and layout are governed by a geometry of circles and tangents that organize circulation, spatial relationships, and orientation. The project prioritizes site conditions and topography over conventional plan-making, using curved geometries to negotiate slope, views, and terraces. Spatial arrangement, massing, and character arise from the interaction between terrain and geometric strategy, producing a house that reads as an architectural response to circumstance and landscape.
